Terms of Service

Last updated: 10 October 2026

These terms cover buying the Theory of Change Toolkit and using our two sites, toctoolkit.org and download.toctoolkit.org. If you buy the toolkit, they apply to your purchase, alongside Onelink’s terms (see “Price and payment”). Where the rules differ for consumers (individuals buying mainly for purposes outside their trade, business or profession) and for businesses and organisations, including consultants, we say so.

Who we are

Theory of Change Toolkit is run by James Freeman-Gray, a sole trader in England, trading as Theory of Change Toolkit. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean James Freeman-Gray, trading as Theory of Change Toolkit.

  • Business address: 86–90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE
  • Email: hello@toctoolkit.org

What you’re buying

The toolkit is a one-off digital download: a ZIP file with six folders.

  • Rapid Primer: PDF
  • Mini Assessments: PowerPoint and PDF
  • Slide Deck: PowerPoint and PDF, 89 pages
  • Facilitator Notes: Word
  • Worksheets: PowerPoint and PDF
  • Miro board: a Miro board file (.rtb) with an instruction sheet

To use all of it, you’ll need software that opens PowerPoint, Word and PDF files, and a Miro account for the board.

There’s no account to set up with us, no subscription and nothing to renew. The price covers the files as they are when you buy; we don’t promise updates.

Price and payment

The toolkit costs £65 including VAT, paid once.

Your purchase is “Sold through Onelink”. Onelink (Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe affiliate) is the merchant of record, which means it:

  • takes your payment;
  • charges VAT or sales tax in the countries where it handles tax;
  • emails your receipt and invoice, which come from Onelink, not from us;
  • handles questions about payments and refunds.

Your card or bank statement will show the payment as “LINK.COM*” or “onelink.com*” followed by our name, or something similar.

Onelink may offer to let you pay in your local currency. That’s optional: its exchange rate includes a markup, and you can choose to pay in the original currency instead. Your bank may also charge its own fees.

When you place your order, the checkout asks you to agree to Onelink’s terms and privacy policy. They cover the payment, refunds and order support:

Onelink may decline, cancel or refund an order, for example if it suspects fraud or an error.

We’re responsible for the toolkit itself: what’s in it, getting it to you, and helping you with it.

Concessions

Students, and organisations in low- and middle-income countries, can ask for a concession by emailing hello@toctoolkit.org. If you’re eligible, we’ll send you a single-use discount code. There are no public discount codes.

Getting your toolkit

When you complete checkout, you’re taken straight to your download page on download.toctoolkit.org, where you download the ZIP. If your payment takes time to clear, the page works as soon as it has.

That page’s address is your link to the toolkit. Onelink’s receipt doesn’t include it, so bookmark the page. The link is built to keep working, so you can download the files again later. Still, keep your own copy of the ZIP, and if the link ever stops working, email us. Anyone who has the link can use it, so please don’t post or share it publicly. If a link is posted publicly, we may switch it off.

Lost your link? Email hello@toctoolkit.org from the email address you used at checkout, or tell us what that address was, and we’ll send your link to it.

How you can use the toolkit

The toolkit is protected by copyright. When you buy it, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it as set out below. If you buy for an organisation, the licence belongs to that organisation.

You can:

  • use the toolkit yourself and with colleagues in your own organisation;
  • use it in your work with clients, including running workshops and adapting the materials to build a client’s theory of change;
  • edit and adapt the files, print them, and give copies to the people taking part in work you run.

You can’t:

  • sell, sublicense or give away the files, or anything made mainly from them, as a product of your own;
  • publish the files, or substantial parts of them, online or in print;
  • remove or change the copyright notices in them.

When you share the materials, or work adapted from them, outside your own organisation, credit them as “Theory of Change Toolkit, toctoolkit.org”.

We don’t claim ownership of the theory of change you build with the toolkit.

Problems and refunds

If something’s wrong with the toolkit, such as a file that won’t open, something missing or damaged, or the toolkit not being as described, email hello@toctoolkit.org. We’ll put it right, usually by sending you a working file. If we can’t, we’ll refund you.

Onelink’s refund policy. You can also ask Onelink support for a refund within 60 days of buying. Onelink’s refund policy currently says a refund may be available if your digital goods didn’t arrive, are significantly not as described or unfit for purpose, or are damaged or corrupted, or if the payment was unauthorised or duplicated. Onelink decides these requests under its own policy, and where that policy is more generous than these terms, it applies.

Cooling-off. If you’re a consumer under UK or EU law, Onelink’s terms currently give you 14 days from the day you receive access to the toolkit to cancel your order. To cancel, ask Onelink support for a refund and give “cooling off period” as the reason. You can also email us and we’ll help.

Apart from these, we don’t give refunds for a change of mind. Refunds go back to the payment method you used. If you receive a full refund, your licence ends: please delete the files. We may also switch off your download link.

If you’re a consumer, you also have legal rights when digital content is faulty or not as described. Nothing in these terms affects those rights. Citizens Advice can explain them.

Intellectual property and using the sites

The toolkit and the content of toctoolkit.org are owned by or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright. Beyond the licence above and ordinary use of the sites, please ask us before reproducing any of it. Please don’t try to get the toolkit without paying, get round the checks on the download page, or interfere with how either site works.

If you seriously break the licence, for example by reselling or publishing the files, we may end it by email. You must then stop using the toolkit and delete your copies, and we may switch off your download link.

Our responsibility to you

The toolkit supports your own work. What you build with it, and the decisions you make, are yours.

If you’re a consumer, we’re responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We’re not responsible for loss that isn’t foreseeable.

If you buy for a business or organisation, we’re not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or opportunity, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you in connection with the toolkit is limited to the price you paid.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the law changes. Your purchase stays on the terms in force on the day you bought it, and the date at the top shows the latest change. If you need an earlier version, email us.

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business, such as a company set up to run the toolkit. If we do, your rights under these terms stay the same, and we’ll tell you if it affects you.

Your personal data

Our privacy policy explains how we use personal data. Onelink handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. We never see your full card number. Onelink shares your order details with us so that we can support your purchase.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute about them. If you’re a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you’re a consumer living anywhere else, this doesn’t take away any protection you have under the law where you live.

Contact and complaints

For questions, problems or complaints, email hello@toctoolkit.org and we’ll look into it. For a payment or a refund, you can also contact Onelink support.
